Visiting in-Laws

I never visit my relatives, I rather spent my time with my friends, but not with relatives, I don’t know why? I’m like that. I’m a social animal, it is true only with my friends, I become reserve when it comes to my relatives, I will be lip clipped in presence of them, on the other way with my friends I’ll be voluble.

When my mother asked me to go to my in-laws place (as it seems a custom), I felt very uncomfortable, however I some how consoled myself, when my wife has to stay in my place for the rest of life why not me in her place for a few days (hours), and so I dressed myself to my in-laws place, I took a faded jean and a Philadelphia Eagles T-shirt (Gifted by friend/client), to looked awesome to me, I’m in perfect casuals. When I came out of my dressing room, at very first glance my mom started shouting at me, she was literally yelling saying that I look like a rogue, what people will think about you where some decent dress, I replied Mom what you mean by decent I’m wearing Levis jean worth 6K and this is T-Shirt is a perfect match for this jean, but it seems my mom is convinced, she keep telling that I disrespect her and I deliberately doing this (wearing Jean and T-shirt) to insult her, and started digging my closet I don’t know what for but later figured out that she is searching a better dress for me which she asked me to wear.

She got me a nice White shining shirt and navy blue trousers, it is perfect but I’m neither going for an interview nor it is not my first day to office, moreover I wont feel comfortable with such formals, as I’ve to ride motor cycle hitting dirt, so by the time I reach my in-laws place this white shirt will be black, and told my mom I’m comfortable with what I’m, if my in-laws know that I’m not rogue, otherwise I wouldn’t have been there in-law, so don’t force me to wear this. Now my Mom started murmuring that I’m not respecting her words, and it would be an insult if I go in Jeans and T-shirt and so on. I told my self that’s it, I shouted back to my mom, tell you want me to visit my in-laws place or just be a coach-potato watching Discovery Channel as there is something interesting I’m watching now, knowing that I’m not going to change the dress she changed her mind and asked to visit my in-laws place with my jean and T-shirt.

I started my bike, heading to my in-laws place, as soon as I reach there place, they welcomed me, which made me feel like VVIP, after reaching their living room, I was offered a chair, there were tons of sweets, nuts, biscuits, canned juices and so on. Which I was refusing for a long time, as I had enough at my place so there isn’t any place to taste any of these either, and my wife was forcing me to have few of these, which is kind of irritating now and my father in law was watching some singers competition program, in a Malayalam channel, which I don’t understand and I don’t like such programmes, but it seems the whole family likes that programme, they know the names of each singer and there strengths and weakness, I know nothing about music, so it sounded stupid to me, however it seems my father-in-law has a good knowledge in Music, his forefathers and one of his brother was a music director, but for me it was a boring programme as I know nothing about music and worst thing is I don’t under the language either, after sometime I was offered the remote of the TV, and asked to change the programme if I want, without any hesitation, I surfed thru channels to check the available channels and found Animal Planet, HBO, Sony Pix and Discovery Channels (they are many but the above four is my interest) and started watching Discovery channel, few mins later I found myself deserted as my wife and her mother went to kitchen (preparing food, which concerned me, as I don’t want to be guinea pig, lol, but I know they are done with their preparation) and my father-in-law went outside, counting stars, probably it seems he thinks counting stars is better than watching Discovery Channel, however I never bothered, I didn’t even asked them to if they want to watch the singing competition progamme, I know that was rude, I behaved like uncivilized, watching wild animals in Discovery.

Already I’m in worst clothes (as per my Mom’s comment) and refused to eat any snacks, that was offered, now watching wild animals, and not showing any interest in Music, all put together, I’m a barbarian to them now, however the fact is I’m trying to be what I’m rather disguising my character, which may not last longer, now.
